1 week post removal

Well, I went in for my check today. I am dilated 3 cm very close to 4 cm! They also did an ultrasound to check weight and fluid levels, since I have two mutations of MTHFR it makes it more likely that the placenta will start to give out sooner. Fluid looked great, baby looked great and placenta is still functioning properly. They are estimating that he weighs 7lb 8 ozs right now (holy crap), but as we all know this is + or - 1 lb or so.

I have to be at L&D tomorrow at 5:30 am for induction. My OB thinks that I will go fairly quickly and that he may be here my noon tomorrow.

Wow. Just Wow.

I will try to update as soon as I can to share his handsome face!

Cerclage is out

Well we went in to the OB on Friday for the removal of my cerclage. As I said in my last post Chris didn't think I could handle it, but I proved him wrong. The removal was over and done before I really even knew it, but that speculum let's just say ouch. Now I have had that speculum in my lady business quite a few times over the years (annuals, precancerous cervical cells - treatment and many follow-ups, ALLL the fertility treatments, etc, etc, ad nauseum) and it is never comfortable, at least not for me, but it was so far in there I thought I was going to cry. OB says it had to be to push the baby off the cervix to make the removal easier, thank god it was only like a minute or less or I probably would have cried. Chris also asked to keep the cerclage and it will be going in baby boys baby book, if I ever buy one lol.

OB said that my cervix is really thin and it's amazing it held so long - which yay!!! She checked me (another holy crap ouch) 90% effaced only 1 cm dilated - sigh.

So as of today, Tuesday 3/6, I am still pregnant. Which of course you know makes perfect sense - my cervix cant handle the pressure of a baby that's not even 1 lb yet, but lets get a 6 lb + in there after cerclage removal and we are steel - again sigh. I mean I want him to be completely healthy when he arrives but I also want him out. I want to be able to quit worrying about all the things that can go wrong while he is still an inside baby when I can't do anything about it. I want to be able to start worrying about him being an outside baby, and yes I know there are soo many things that can happen as an outside baby but at least I have some control over that part of the situation.

I go back to the OB on Thursday and if I am dilated 3 cm or more I will be admitted and we should have a baby soon after. I have been having some contractions and lots of period crampy like pains, and I think I lost my mucous plug (gross BTW). He gets pretty pissed off after a contraction, poor thing. So fingers crossed that my cervix is doing what it is supposed to be doing and opening, cause I really want to meet this kid and start loving on him.

So there you go my update on cerclage removal. I will try to update after my appointment on Thursday, depending on what happens of course.

Much love,
Allison

36 weeks

Well today I am 36 weeks. Somehow it seemed like it would never get here and it went too quickly all at the same time.

I go in tomorrow on 3/2 to have my cerclage removed at 9:00 am. I'm hoping that we are able to remove it, and I don't really see why we wouldnt be able to. My husband says that we won't because I don't handle pain very well, thanks for having faith in me dear. If it for some reason we aren't able to take it out we wait a week then admit me, induce I guess, and remove it once I have my epidural. Cause I do admit I am a wuss sometimes and don't know if I can handle labor with a full-term baby lol.

I am hoping that it we are able to get it out and he comes this weekend. I know, I know the longer he bakes the better... But there are just too many things --- I just want him here, safe, alive and healthy.

I will update this weekend if I can to let y'all know if he came or not.

Hope everyone if doing well.

31 weeks

Today, Thursday 1/26/2012, I am 31 weeks pregnant with our little boy - our rainbow. The closer we get to him actually being here - well it's hard to explain I guess. I feel so incredibly blessed, but at the same time I am a complete basket case.

I am a basket case because there are a lot of thoughts of I should have a 2 years old. There are all these things that Cadynce will never get to do on her own, with us, with her baby brother (who, if the way that I tormented my baby brother would have been in for it). I was watching 'Say Yes to the Dress' the other day (working from home can be boring sometimes) and watching the girls with their moms getting emotional when the dress is picked out - well let's just say I completely and totally lost it because all I could think is I will never get to do that with my daughter. There are so many things we wanted to do, places we wanted to take her, experiences we will never get to share. While I have known these things for the whole 2+ years since we lost her....I guess it's hitting home in a significant kind of way since The Boy will be here soon and we will get to have those experiences with him.

I am beginning to understand how hard it is loving my baby girl in Heaven and my rainbow here on Earth. It's a very confusing and wonderful feeling at the same time. There were many times over the last 2 years that I doubted we would get to this point, and while he's not here yet it won't be long. My heart is beginning to overflow with the want, the need, the grief and the happiness. I really don't even know how to begin to describe it, but I know those of you reading know, you get it. I can say these things to you. Things that my family (no matter how much they love me) just can't understand, they don't get it and they never will. Thank you for letting me get it out there, even if it is rambly and disjointed.

**Deep Breath**

I am truly, truly blessed and thankful to have made it to 31 weeks without having to be on complete bedrest. While I have had my doubts about God over the last couple of years, this is just one instance where I know he is watching out for us. We will go in next week for an ultrasound to check on The Boy to be sure he is growing well and I can't wait to see him again and see how big he may be. It's getting exciting and real, more real than I ever imagined. So far so good, other than me having the crap Gestational Diabetes things have been relatively easy on us, so again - blessed.

Huh, well this is not where I was planning on going with this post when I started it.....but sometimes I never know what's going to come out when I start.

It's late, I am tired, and not even sure this post really makes much sense (lol) but I wanted to say hi and let y'all know it's going well still!!

XOXO ~ Allison

Happy New Year

I just want to wish everyone a happy new year. I'm hoping 2012 brings us all blessings - no matter what form we need or want them in. 2011 blessed me with a finally sticky baby, who is still inside and growing. 2012 damn well better bring me a healthy living baby. That's all I have to say about that. I have the lovely gestational diabetes test this week and I'm really looking forward to it. Haha. Just hoping I do not fail.
