Angry

I am very very angry today.  Because of the FET's I have no PTO time left so was just going to take unpaid time to do our IVF in August.

Well work has decided to amend the PTO policy (not that there really as one to begin with) everytime you take a day off and dont have PTO time to use you will get written up and if you get more than 3 instances you can be fired.

I am so pissed off.  This means we will have to wait until next year sometime so I have over 40 hours of time accured to do IVF #2.  I wanted to get this started and over with so that if it doesnt work we can get serious about adoption.

I am so fucking angry....I haven't been this angry and lost in a really long time.

I am beginning to think that we arent meant to have children of our own as everything in my life - losing Cady, 2 miscarriages and now not being able to cycle when I want - is getting in the way.

That is bullshit! Does that policy apply even if the reason is medical? It's none of their damn business what you need the time for, if you are under a doctor's care. How unfair, I'm so sorry.

ali-im soo pissed right now and so f#@*&(ng angry too. this is not fair. you don't need this and believe me, there is a way. a way to do what you want to do without your job messing it up...we just have to figure it out...where there is a will there's a way. xoxo

I don't know if this will help, but what about FMLA? You should be able to file for FMLA for a medical issue without worrying about loosing your job. Its a federal program so should apply in all states. Maybe talk to HR? *huge hugs* I hope that works out for you.

Jessica - FMLA does not apply to my company - we are too small, we only have 15 employees.

If I do not take any time off (well after our weekend scheduled at the end of this month) it will take me about 4.5 months to earn enough time. so maybe after the 1st of the yr.

Is there any chance of obtaining approval in writing for an exception with a doctor's note stating that you will be under care and required to have office visits/etc for a medical procedure?

I mean, I get not wanting people to take advantage to not show up one day or something, but medical issues should have allowances.

Oh, Ali, I am so sorry. I agree - I'd see if maybe a doctor's note would help? That's so horrible that you have to put your life on hold for a stupid policy. Hugs to you.

Oh no. That is so unfair and I'm sorry that it looks as though you might have to wait. x

Seriously? I am sure you have looked into it but is there no other way around this? Like the previous posts have mentioned, what about a medical note?

I hope something starts to work in your favour...it is exhausting when it feels like you are constantly being shit on.

As impossible as it may seem - don't give up hope. Thinking about you!
